Angela Dickey is a Montreal, Canada-based Cinema and Communications CEGEP student. She is an aspiring filmmaker and creative director who loves all stages of the production process and uses art to convey a message.
Angela began to develop an interest in filmmaking in her last semester of high school, where she wrote and directed her first short film for her media studies class in 2024. Eleventh Avenue was a project she fully immersed herself in from its earliest concepts to the final product, remaining deeply engaged throughout. Although the project was initially lighthearted and some outcomes were notably flawed, her teacher acknowledged her effort and ambition, ultimately awarding a grade that exceeded her expectations. This experience sparked a deep passion for video production, including directing, scriptwriting, editing, etc.
She recently developed a strong interest in photography and looks forward to contributing a collection of her work to the gallery. She is particularly dedicated to advancing her film projects, exploring photography and other creative work, pursuing equestrian activities, and enhancing her social media engagement.
Over the summer, she worked with Something Great Films as a script supervisor and continuity coordinator on The Man with the Golden Wrapper. Now, she currently serves as the social media manager, working with both the print and digital teams, for her school’s independent, student-led newspaper, The Plant.
She is also developing a series of short films, both as part of her current coursework and for personal projects, as she builds her portfolio for university applications.
